Timothy K. O'Brien

Tim O'Brien's practice focuses on estate planning and elder law. He enjoys helping clients prepare for the future in a deliberate and proactive way. His goal is to help clients better understand the choices they have, and which choice is best for their circumstances.

Tim is a New Hampshire native who grew up in Laconia, NH and graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He received his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., and he is admitted to the practice of law in New Hampshire.

Prior to joining Upton & Hatfield, LLP, , Tim practiced law in Laconia, NH, focusing his practice on estate planning and probate administration. Tim also gained experience in the fields of Landlord-Tenant, Criminal Defense, and Family Law practice. Tim broadened his life experience as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the New York field office. During that time, he lived in New Jersey and Connecticut, married, and started a family that now consists of three children. Tim then returned to New Hampshire and to the private practice of law in 2023 and has continued to focus his practice on estate planning, elder law, and probate.

Tim is a member of the Real Estate and Estate Planning sections of the NH Bar Association. When he is not working, Tim enjoys being outdoors with his children and introducing them to the many wonderful opportunities to have healthy fun in New Hampshire.
